APPENDIX "A" BACKGROUND | 1, The Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory has submitted (see ARC 99/23) a general deseription of tests currently under | consideration by LASL for Operation REDWING, 2, Tests currently under consideration by the University of California Radiation Laboratory are described in a letter to the Director of Military Application dated July 7, 1955, copies of which wére distributed to the Commissioners by memorandum from the Secretary dated July 14, 1955. 3, On duly 14, 1955, Dr, Bradbury of LASL and Dr. Mills of UCRL briefed the Commission on the then current status of their respective test programs, 4, The tentative shot schedule for Operation REDWING is contained in a letter from Task Group 7.1 of Joint Task Force SEVEN dated August 12, 1955, subject: "Revision No, 3 to CTG 7.1 - General Concept No. 1-55, 33-51, dated April 1955."
