The Test Organization will assume operational status on Febru-

ary 1, 1955, with its headquarters at Mercury, (Nevada Test Site)

Nevada, and will remain operative until the test series is terminated
by direction of the Manager, Santa Fe Operations, U. S. AEC.

During the operational period, until formal termination, the Test
Manager will report directly to the Director of Military Application,
U. S. Atomic Energy Commission, Washington, D. C., on the
general conduct of the test and to the Department of Defense and the
Federal Civil Defense Administration on matters concerning their
rarticipatior. He will, however, continue to be responsible to the
Manager, Santa Fe Operations, U. S. AEC, with respect to all admin-

istrative and long-range aspects of the operation of the Nevada Test
Site and for activities not directly related to the Spring 1955 Nuclear
Test Series.

5. During the operational period the Manager, Las Vegas Field
Office, will report to the Test Manager except that in his role of
administrator of ail AEC contracts within the Las Vegas Field Office
and for matters not pertaining to the full-scale test, he will continue
to be responsible to the Manager, Santa Fe Operations.

6.

For the duration of the operation, all personnel of the Test

Division, SFO, «ill report to the Test Manager.

assigned to temporary duty to the Test Organisation at the request of
