RY OFFICE OF THE MANAGER ANNOUNCEMENT NO. 3 January 27, 1955 Spring 1955 Continental Atomic Tests atomic tests at the AEC Nevada Test Site (formerly known as the Nevada Proving Ground), the operational period to begin on February 1, 1955, and to extend for a period of at least two months thereafter dependent upon meteorological conditions. This test series will be known as Operation TEAPOT aad will be conducted by an organiza- tion drawn frem AEC and contractor resources within the AEC's Santa Fe Operations organization and from various services within the Department of Defense, the Federal Civil Defense Administration, and other Federal agencies. (The U. S. Public Health Service, U. S. Weather Bureau, and Civil Aeronautics Administration are also assisting in the execution of the test.) 2.
