Actual field decay measurements, which indicated a decay exponent were used to extrapolate the dose-rate readings to H+l hour. The off-site fallout pattern was drawn from oceanopraphic surveys. The oceanographic surveys used detector probes for measuring the doserate at depths to and below the thermocline. Water-samplings equipment was used for the taking of surface samples and for the collection of samples from any desired depth. The dose-rate readirgs were extrapolated to H+] hour by using the decay measurements of the samples -vollected. Very little of the fallout should have been associated with solid particles large cnough to penetrate below the thermocline. 132
