Yrimble (1974) suggests that four basic characteristics summarize relationship botween governments and groups forced to move from traditional lands, as follows: @® tendency towards the prevalence of destructive rather than constructive thinking; ® use of fear as an intervening variable to motivate groups to relocate; ® prevalence of the absence of the right of due process for the cultural group; © and prevalence of the denial of information. Information gained from an assessment. of these characteristics provides one with a basic understanding of the nature of intergroup relationships. The pressing issue, however, is the consequences produced by forcing a cultural group to relocate. The following questions are but a few from a potentially lengthy list of major concerns. Ll.
