DOE, through Holmes & Narver, Inc., charters a 118-foot motor research vessel named the R. V. Liktanur II,
home-ported at Kwajalein Atoll.
The ship is essential to the DOE Bio-Med Environmental R&D programs, inasmuch as it constitutes the only
reliable source of transportation available to the medical and scientific laboratories which conduct the
programs on various Pacific Atolls.
In addition, all users are provided a wide range of supportive services, such as the provision and maintenance
of required equipment, arrangement and payment of air fares and hotel accommodations, purchasing of requested
items, packing and shipping, etc.
