It will replace the 1971 Scout which is now being used for those purposes and is beyond economical repair. The Stakebed Truck will be used for transporting bulk cargo from receiving warehouses to DOE charter _ vessels. The Jeep will be assigned to Enewetak Atoll for the use of MPRL and LLNL. unreliable and expensive to maintain. The existing comparable unit is FY 1984 1 Whaler (17 ft.) l Generator (30 KW) 14.0 31.0 : 4 Pickup Trucks 6.0 11.0 The Whaler will replace a similar boat which is carried aboard the Liktanur II. The unit is used to transport Marshallese patients from various islands to the vessel for treatment. By FY 1984 the existing boat should be retired for safety reasons.
