zero at 25,000 feet altitude; three C-54 aircraft orbiting at 20,000 fect
range at altitudes of 1500 feet, 9000 feet, -and 10,000 feet; and one RB-50
aircraft which provided vertical aerial photographic coverage of the tar”
array before and after each shot.
For the ‘lahoo shot, an additional camera station was installed in wu
hold of the ECe2 to record effects of a deep-water detonsticn on the ships:

For the Umbrella shot, in addition to the basic installations, a camera
station was installed on a barge 20,000 feet from surface zero; another
camera station was installed on hui Island to photograph rocket firings, and
a triemetrogon camera array was installed on a Hel? helicopter to photograph wave action at two surface instrument platforms.
In addition tothe major effort on the five nilitary effects shots, a
somewhat smaller effort was expended on some of the :EC diagnostic shots.

A

camera station was installed to record the effects of the thermal pulse on

certain materials.

Several aerial photographic surveys were accomplished of

craters vroduced by land surface detonetions; aerial surveys were accomplish-

ed to locate strings of gages placed in the water prior to several shots;
and mosaics were flown of Johnston Island, and ali the islands of both Bikini
and Eniwetok Atolis for planning purposes.

For documentary purposes, approximately 60,000 feet of original 351M
Eastman Color Negative film was exposed from which a nilitary effects motion
picture film report will be premred after the operation.
For historical and report purposes, approximately 3500 black and white
still nesatives were exposed during the operation.
