The attached Public Education and Information Plan for Operation
PLUMBBOB, the 1957 Nevada test series, is transmitted for comment
by the Operations Coordinating Board on phases of the Plan re-

The Plan was drafted on the basis of experience at previous tests
and in anticipation of informational and educational problems
that may be raised prior to and during the test operations in 1957.
The Plan has been approved by the Commission. It has also been
transmitted to the Department of Defense for concurrence and to
the Department of State for any recommendation as to whether foreign
media representatives should be invited to attend tests witnessed
by domestic media representatives.
Early consideration of this matter and comment by the Operations
Coordinating Board is requested.
