Note thet all through this period calculational work is accompanying the
hardware design for a high altitude fluorensence detection sistem snc in parti-
cular Bennett's high altitude fluorensence (IAF) code nas been modified and
developed to address the fluorensence detection as well as certain of
phenomonology.
P-Division continucs to work on detectors for satalite detection of high altitude
tests and has attempted two rocket Launches with Sendia: 1 with a protron spectron-
eter and the other a:mneutron detector.
Both of these
sockets failed shortly after
Launch and therefore the electon spectrometer payloa
d that hes been developed
has not been tested.
A capability report of the satalite system proposed. has
been prepared by a joint Sandia-LASL working group (Suzzer
?) and presented to
DMA
This was about the time the plasma theromocouple progra
m was setting Lacreased
funding from Washington and J-Division in this montana
reported on their owm work
along these lines with one particuler configuretion
to be faurrensad ome
In the testing section of this reper, there is
e section on tie “one ten
test program," for which four shots nave been fired to
Sein infomasion "on the
flow of active material in circumstances a bomb is fired
in pipes or holes."

program will continue and so far hes been moderately
successful from a containment point of view.
