3.3 COMPARISON WITH TOTAL BETA YIRLD It is possible to compare the total fallout observed during the Castle series with the amount of beta activity produced. Assuming the relationships between fission yield and total beta activity given in The Effects of Atomic Weapons (4, p. 251) is valid, the beta activity in the fission products from @ nominal bomb t20 kt) 18 approximately 266 megacuries after gne day.
