On J-420 ground station had difficulty rcading oir-
craft on "A", "A" was only channel used,
both Boundary Tere and Dirty Face on "A",

up IFF at first. After switching modes and having
Boundary Tare give them a bearing, no more diffic-—
ulty was encountered,

Loran Station 1L1 was 30 miles off ata
position 60 miles cast of Fred, This was detcrminod
by radar, which was known to be accurate.
