Observations varied from site to site, but among the sites they included all tl
usual kinds of surface weather observations and also rawinsondes twice daily,

cloud photographs, and radarscope photographs.

During these two e-week period

observations were also made on trangs-lagoon runs aboard an M-boat (LCM) and on
ocean runs outside the reef in an aircraft rescue boat (ARP).

On lagoon and

ocean runs surface water temperatures were measured through making bucket haul
at frequent intervals.

During the remainder of the year, outside these two intensive-study peric
