sonable limits of error. Thus it was felt that no appreciable error was introduced by using the
results of such a computation as a standard for comparison, and the l- and 2-Kt reference
curves of Fig. 32 for positive-phase duration were derived in this manner. The data from the
reference curves derived from the IBM run werethus scaled down to 1 Kt. The scaled durations from Mike shot were found to be considerably longer than would have been anticipated
from a burst of a 2-Kt bombin free air. Positive impulses, on the other hand, were somewhat
nearer those expected from a 2-Kt burst (Fig. 33) and of an order of magnitude that would indicate that the decrease in peak pressure coupled with the increase in positive-phase duration
to maintain the impulse at a balance.
