ABSTRACT (Continue on reverse if necessary and identify by block number) The high-resolution ultraviolet and visible spectra of typical test nuclear detonations up to and including Operation Ivy have been analyzed and compared. Topics studied include the types of atomic and molecular material observed (with calculations, in some cases, of the relative quantities involved), the ultraviolet cutoff, and rotational temperatures. Variation of these quantities with the radiochemical yield of the bomb is indicated. 20 DISTRIBUTION / AVAILABILITY OF ABSTRACT SCI UNCLASSIFIED/UNLIMITED (CJ SAME As RPT 22a NAME OF RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUAL Betty L.
