Note by the Secretary
The Acting Director of Milltary Application has submitted
the attached letter from the Director, LASL,
for the information
of the Commission, with the following statement:
"Information has been received from the Director,
University of California Radiation Laboratory at
Livermore that they are tentatively considering for
DIXIE two linear implosion. shots similar to those in
TEAPOT and possibly a shot similar to TURK,"
"Near the end of TEAPOT, LASL will be in position
‘to firm up their ideas on DIXIE, and the effect on
Livermore of a postponement will also be known,
At
that time a decision on DIXIE will be possible and it
is hoped also a decision on REDWING," |
"The Military Liaison Committee and Joint Task
Force Seven have heen notified of the possible
postponement of the two operations,"
