approximately 90 days in advance of the estimated detonation date.
This 90
days would be broken down into 60 days of additional construction time plus
30 days user occupancy time.

. Not actually an NTS Planning Board document but an inhouse Livermore memcrandum
from R. Petrie to W. Gibbins, dated 11 May 1959, concerns the construction at
NTS versus the projected funding picture and in particular outlines the
recommendations for the continuation or fiscal year 1960 construction within
funding as quoted by Sewell in a 23 April memorandum. The basic philosophy
is to obtain the best utilization of available funds to maintain an increasing
90-day capability which means construction on each side tunnel would be stopped
T
a sequential increase in the number of tunnels in a state of 90-day readiness.
The tables and figures in this memo note the presently approved and ongoing
work in tunnels Ul2e05 and O4,on safety tunnels U12i, j and k,and in tunnel
U12b03 as well as the fact that funds have been allocated for other activity
like postshot exploratory work, LASL safety holes, granite dicging and other
things in FY
'S9.
LRL lays out here the details of recommended work to be
done in tunnels B and E and G, I, J and K and the amount of estimated cost
and time it would take to reach 90-day readiness for these various shot locations.
