Whether this lack of response is due to bureaucratic lethargy or reluctance on the part of the agencies named is not known. In either case, the Committee wishes to note for the record its extreme displeasure at this apparent lack of assistance —_— and expresses its hopes that this situation will be rectified in the future, The Committee would like to extend its appreciation to Dr. Cronkite and Dr. Robert A, Conard of the Brookhaven National Laboratory of Long Island, New York for their assistance and cooperativeness, We are especially grateful for Dr, Conard's efforts to respond to the Committee's many requests for information and for his hospitality during the September survey, Also due a note of appreciation are the medical and support staff of the Brookhaven team including: doctors Lowery, Larsen, Sutow, and Knudsen, and Brookhaven staff members William Scott, Douglas Clareus, and Mike Maker.
