The Commissioners had no questions on the Reactor
Development report.

Research
Mr, T. H, Johnson introduced Mr. Knox who reviewed
U.S, particle accelerator programs and commented on the
status of studies now in progress.
h, Biology and Medicine
Mr, Claus reported on recent meetings concerning
Projects GABRIEL and SUNSHINE and discussed with the
Commissioners the conclusions which have been reached
thus far in these studies, He also reported on the initiation
0. Froject TRCLL which will study the movement of
r.dioactive material in Pacific ocean currents,
At this point Mr, Claus left the meeting, In the course of
the Biology and Medicine report, the Chairman left the meeting.
i, Crganization and Personnel
Mr, Smith reported on plans to convert AEC ‘‘Indefinite’'
appointments to AEC ‘'regular'' or regulaz (conditional)
appointments, Mr Libby inquired concerning the status of the
outside training program for AEC employees. The General
Manager suggested that Mr. Smith report on this program
during the next Monthiy Report to the Commission,
