earth. The imiediate otjective will te to exploit the available information from “EDING. Combinine the knowledge of fission energy
released with the data on local fallout at %EMTN3 it msy be possible
to estimate the amount of radioactive detris in the stratosphere ana
hence the amount of worldewide fallout to te anticipated. The next
objective will be to apply °ED<ING and CASTLE data, plus the existing
model, to the planning for the next test series with two purposes in
mind:
Firet, to refine the model still more; and second, to apply it
directly to the practical problem of minimizing worldewide fallout.
The AEC Commissioners are desirous of anether fallout briefing when
the atove data and related information on "RI: ING fallout hes teen
furtner developed to make such a briefing worthwhile.

A fallout symposium, se.onscred ty the Commission, is contempleted
shortly after the first of the calendar vear to discuss all the inocrtent aspects of the problem. It is desired that information develcped
as 3 result of these adcitionel studies be exchansed between the ine
terested oarties., It is recuested that you designate a member of rour

sentation at the sympostum if you So cesire.
