JOHNSTON ISLAND:
J-, JTF SEVEN conducted a meeting at 1300 hours, 3 July, to discuss further
the evacuation problems of the TEAK and ORANGE events scheduled for Johnston
Island. Col Loveless opened the meeting by stating that General Luedecke
désired the mumber of persomel remaining at or in the vicinity of Johnston
Island during shot time be held to an absolute minimum Every individual

remaining during shot time should be absolutely essential to the success of
the Operation. Major Policastro then took over the meeting. Al Task Groups
were present.

H&N has 3 "M boats, each capable of hauling approximately 100 persons per

trip with an estimated time of 13 hours per round trip.

JIF SEVEN will

direct TG 7.3 to provide TG 7.5 additional "MM" boat support as required,

provided the "M* boats are released early to allow them to enter the Belle

Grove in time for the Belle Grove to depart on schedule,
