Considering developments during and subsequent to Creretion CASTLE,
the Commission believes that news media representation at one shot
in Operation HEWI8G is desirable to provide opportunity for ac<-
curate reporting of events ag 4 means ef proncting public coapre~
hension of test objectives, dispelling alerepresantations and off-
vetting sttacks on test programs.

task Force SEVEN, proceed on selected island tours, view from ship
(er single aireraft) and record on fila a megaten yleld shot,
retarn via ship (or plene) to Ewajalein, thence return to Hewali
by air.
Federal Civil Defense Administration participation in the program
will provide an epportanity fer selected state and regional FCDA
directors to chserve the events associated with a theraonuclear
detonation in order that they uay te better oriented with respect
te civil defense prebleus and FCDA objectives.
