(3) Minor Construction (a) Alterations,extensionsand minor new constructionof base facility structuresand propertyis not authorized to be accomplishedwith Operationand MaintenanceFunds. b. Maintenance (1) Base Facilities (a) Maintenanceof base facilitiesexcludingcommunication facilitiesat BIKINIand ENIWETOKAtollsis the responsibilityof (XG 7.5 as providedin existingagreementswith the ARC. (b) Facilitiesoccupiedby the task force on KWAJALEINwill be maintainedby the CO, NAVSTAKWAJ. (c) Facilitiesoccupiedby the task force on UJELANG,WOTHO, UTIRIK,and RONGELAPand such additionalproject site islandsas may be requiredwill be maintainedby ~G 7.5. (2) Material and Equipnent. ‘Themaintenanceof militarymaterial and equipnentwill be governedby the provisionsof SOP 65-1, 15 March 1955, Headquarters,JTF SEVEN. Maintenancepolicies for AEC or contractormaterialwill be prescribedby the owninq agency. (3) CommunicationFacilities (a) Maintenanceof fixed communicationfacilities(less air controlcommunicationfacilities)on FRED and DAVID,and the JTF SEVEN communicationCenter on PARRY Island is the responsibilityof COMUSATG 7.2. (b) Maintenanceof the TG 7.3 boat pool and other afloat commurLicationfacilities,and theTG 7.3 communicationfacilities on ELMER and NAN Islandsis the responsibilityof CTG 7.3. (c) Maintenanceof weather-radsafeisland communicationfacilities, weather centralcommunicationfacilities,and aircraftcontrol facilitieson FRED is the responsibilityof ~G 7.4. (d) Maintenanceof communicationfacilitiesat BIKINI and FNIWETOK Atolls which are operatedby CTG 7.5 is the responsibilityof cables in the CTG 7.5. Maintenanceof installedsulxnarine EPG is the responsibilityof CTG 7.5. Fmergencypower generatorswill be maintainedby CTG 7.5.
