A conclusion can be drawn from these figures that the energy
reacning a station is roughly proportional to the square of the ratios
or shot size.

Deep Drilling to Base Rocks

Tie first drill hole (Station 1130) on Elugelab Island, wes
completed in 31 days at a depta of 4,630 ft.

Hard basement rock was

A core barrel was then run in to obtain a

sample of the basement rock.

However, at 4,630 ft the core barrel

stuck and could not be broken loose.

The drill pipe was finally shot

off at a dept2 of 3,438 ft and tne hole was abandoned.

Seismic

logging of the nole to tne depth of tne broken drill pipe is now being
accomplished.
The very small percentage-of hard rock layers in the coral is
notable.
