Since 1953
N early 5,000 pins, in recognition of years of
service to the University of California, have been
presented at the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory
since 1953.
Among University employees who have received service pins at LASL, Al Dyhre, former
business manager, is the dean of them all. He is
the only holder of a 35-year pin.
The 25-year award has been presented to 46

persons while 649 have been honored for 20 years

of service. Pins for 15 years have been presented
to 1,695 and the largest number, 2,751, has been
in recognition of 10 years of service.
These figures include awards for employees

who were eligible to receive them during last

months’ ceremonies. The most recent recipients
numbered 158 of which seven were honored for
25 years of service; 52 for 20 years; 48 for 15

years and 5} for 10 years.
