RESPONSIBILITIES,
A.
Tne Caamander, Joint Task Farce SEVEN, ia responsible for all radiological
safety during Operation HARDTACK,
The responsibility for general on-xte (Eniwstok
arc Bikini Atolis) radiological safety operations has been delegated to the
Commander, Taek Group 7.1.
B, The Consmander, Task Unit 6, Task Group 7.1, will exercise overall supervision and contrel for CTG 7.1 on all radiological safety matters.
C.
Task Unit Commanders are responsibie for the radiological safaty of memvers
of theixy task units,
In additicn, during operations in conteninated areas, preject
and party leaders are respensibie for radiological safety of the parties and for
conpliance with these regulaviors.

Garnna: 3.75 reentgens per consecutive 13<week perioc, with a maxi«mum of 5.0 roantgens for the Operation. Personnel wrose previcus
radiation dose history indicates that tnaeir total accunulated dose
to 1 January 1958 is in excess of or equal to 5(N-18) roentgens,
where K is tie age on 1 Jamary 1958, will under no circunstances
be allowed to exceed the 5.0 R maximum for the Operation.

Alpha:
10,030 exposure units for any consecutive 13-week pericd
-canaputed by multiplying the average air concentratior in the ares
of exposure in d/a/M3 by the hours of exocsure.
This is to be used
in all cases where personnel are not using respiratory protection
in an aloha-contaninated area. Natural alpha Sackgrcund ie not.
