On behalf of the Atomic Energy Commission, I am pleased to invite
you and three members of your office to witnesa a shot in tha forthcoming series of nuclear tests at the Pacific Proving Ground.
Six Official Cbserver trips are scheduled, the first to depart
Rashington avout April 26th and the others to follow at intervals
of about fifteen days.
It is planned that observer parties will
leave Washington aboard a special mission aircraft about six days
shead of the scheduled date of the shot, proceed via Travis Air
Force fase, California, and Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, to
Enivetok, remain in the forward area about four days, and then re~-
turn, taling four days for the return trip. Arrangerents may be
made for you to board the aircraft at Travie or Hickam instead of
Washington if you so desire.
Because accommodations at the Proving Ground are Minited, I would
appreciate éarly information ag to the names of these who can attend
and, if sc, the period or perloda convenient.
