It would be appreciated if the Commission would advise
the Joint Committee on the status and problems of the people
of the Marshall Islands in order that Chairman Pastore may reply to the points raised in the enclosed letter from Ataji L. Balos,
Ebeye Village, Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
It is my understanding that no nuclear explosion has taken
place in the Marshall Islands since September 1958 and I also
presume that none are contemplated there for the future even if
atmospheric testing is resumed,
