BIKINI AND RONGELAP PEOPLES

The natives of the atoll of Bikini were removed from the atoll
prior to Operation CROSSROADS in 1946. They have never been
returned to their native atoll. They were temporarily placed
on some other atoll, the name of which I am unable to recall,
and were finally placed on Ujelang and Kili Islands well to
the south but in the Marshall Islands. They received no
particular fallout from any of the weapons tests,
on-tire—vetrer-tmmd TieRongelapese were on the Island of Rongelap
and
Bverrt).
Ailinginae on March 1, 1954 @RAYO
The 64 on Rongelap received approximately 175r external
gamma dose; the 18 on Ailinginae received 69r external gamma dose;
and the 157 natives on the Atoll of Utirik received approximately
1l4r external gamma dose.

Rongerik /Atoll is about 150 miles east of Bikini, Ailinginae is
roughly 75 miles from Bikini. Rongelap is 100 miles and Utirik
