Weyzen Manager, Human Health Studies Programs Division of Biomedical and Environmental Research U. S. Department of Energy Washington, D. C. 20545 Dear Dr. Weyzen: 1978. Enclosed is the article I referred to during our meeting on November 30, The paper does give the location of the "Bikini Ash" - The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research, Japan. JI have in the meantime written a letter to the authors of the paper requesting their assistance in getting a part of the sample. However, I am not sure whether they could get us the sample. I sincerely hope you can do the needful. Also, please do find enclosed a very interesting research proposal (draft) on the significance of using teeth samples collected from the Marshallese (Rongelap, Utirik and Bikini). We feel that these samples are unique and could serve as a potential bioassay indicator. We also feel that the results would throw additional light on internal dosimetry, a key factor in our dose reassess~ ment question. Kindly let me know your thoughts on this research idea. I am preparing an update on the Dose Reassessment and should have the same sent to you by the first week of January 1979. Thank you for your continued interest. Yours truly, Janakiram R.
