Values for phosphorus-32 in the sea-water near the Columbia River mouth are given in Table 3. These values ranged from 3-6 to 8-0 pe./L To our knowledge no other values for phosphorus-32 in sea-water have been reported. In order to compare the radioactivity from naturally occurring and artifictal radionuclides in sea-water, the values for potassium-40 were determined as well as the radionuclides discussed here. [or samples collucted near the month of the Columbia River, these valucs ranged from 190 to 370 pe./l. and wore related to the salinity values. The calculated valus for potassium-40 in sea. water of 35 parts per thousand salinity is $30 pe./L. This work was carried out under contract AT (45-1) 1385 with the U.S. ..tomic Energy Commission. ?
