As a matter of clarification, it is assumed that in the first
paragraph of your ictter that Eniwetok Marine Blology Laboratory
means the support activity for Eniwetok-Bikini surveys and not
the transfer of the contract for the operation of the Eniwetok
Marine Biology Laboratory Contract No. AT(29-2)-226,
As you
know, costs for MATS transportation are incurred in connection
with the operation of EMBL which are not paid from contract
funds but by the SAN Office, budget activity 06 05 02,
We
believe that it is appropriate that SAN continue to pay these
costs since they are incurred by EMBL. We will provide an
estimate of the MATS costs in our budget submission, in order
that they may be funded separately.
