Only as a result of such tests can the Atomic Energy Commission and the Armed Services obtain essential information to guide them in their programs. Such tests should be as simple as feasible and should be conducted as soon as possible. After further discussion, the letter to General Brereton regarding a bomb test program was approved, (AEC Doc, 47 = 16).
