ENIWETOK RADIOLOGICAL SURVEY

DECEMBER 9-15, 1972

This report summarizes activities and results of the radiological

survey in progress on Eniwetok Atoll for the period December 9-15, 1972.
A communications failure has precluded routine reports being filed
from the Atoll,

Partial restoration has been made with full capability

expected by December 18.

Fragmentary reports show the following progress.

The Marine Reef Group continued at Eniwetok, Runit, and Engebi.

Sampling

is continuing at Mike Crater.

Lagoon Samp ling has been completed off Runit.

The insitu probe was

used at Runit as well as Parry.
The Engineering/Rad Safe Group completed their work on Engebi.

Profiles

were taken at the hottest spot of soil contamination.

Air Sampling is continuing on Eniwetok, Runit, and Engebi.

TLD's (Thermo Luminescent Dosimeters) were put out for dose evaluation
on the north and northwest islands of Bogallua, Bogombogo, Ruchi,
Cochiti, Bagon, and Rujoru.
