‘The Safety Office, Advisory Group,
eof Task Group 7.1 was established in the Pacific Proving Ground
immediately following the arrival of the Los Alamos Scientific
laboratory Safety Officer on 2 March 1956 (D~60).

LOCATION OF OFFICES:
The central Safety office wes located
in Building 209, Administrative Compound, on Parry Island, Eniwetok
Atel. Following the errivai of a second Safety Officer, a central
office for Bikini Atoll wes established in the compound on Enyu
Island, in March.

ROTATION OF PERSONNEL:
In order to adequately cope with the
workload both at the laboratory and in the Pacific Proving Ground, ea
rotational plan was established which would provide two Safety Officers
in the proving ground at all times.
Each of the five Safety Officers
wild be in the Forward Area for a period of eight weeks, with some
overlapping provided for orientation in the Pacific Proving Ground.
