A statement which reflects the views of the Committee
regarding the program and the recommendations of the Director pf
the Division of Biology ‘and Medicine thereon, has been forwarded

The Division of Biology and Medicine, together with anfad

Genetics, Iowa State College; Dr. L. D. Marinelli, Associate
‘Director, Health Physics Division, Argonne National Laboratory;
and Dr. Stafford L. Warren, Dean, School of Medicine, University
of California at Los Angeles, met in Washington on September
and developed plans for increasing its investigation of the
time effects of radiations.

International Conference on Radiation Tolerances
Under the technical cooperation program a conference
held at Chalk River, Ontario, on September 29 and 30 between
sentatives of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Can

external radiation and to intemal radioactive emitters.
The conferees attained agreement on tolerances for raqi
plutonium, thorium, polonium, and strontium. Agreement was
reacned on a formula for relating the amount of radioactive
