ORNL BIOLOCY RESEARCH CONFERDNCE FOR 1954 SYMBOL: EMB:P8P We have reviewed the proposed prograz for the Bolegy Research Conference for 1954. We have also hed informal preliminary discussions with Dr, Hollaender regarding the seepe of the program and speakers. We feel that it in very appropriate that the 1954 conference be devoted to the subject of “Genetic Recombination, * Regarding the three proposed speakers whe are not American citisens, we see no objection to having them participate in the conference provided travel expenses aw vaid only within the eontinential United States, and they ere first checked by Security, While these people would not have access to classified information, TI believe it would be desirable to have a cheok made by Sequrity so as to make sure they are not assoefated with communist front organizations, This should be done prior to inviting thes to participate at the conference, We would recommend approval of the conference for Apri]. 19454.
