in the field work, time availcble and the lack of trained personnel familiar with higher surveying. The method used adjusts the triangles in three groups which were then adjusted to give geometric conditions which fit the basic figure. This approximate solution j;ields results thit are falt to be sufficiently accurate to verify and fix the position of the photo towers, {ter the figures were adjusted the lengths of the sides were computed from two previously computed lines (1. Coral to Runit, and 2. Coral to Zero “E") to a common iine (Coral to Zero "V") about midway between the two given lines. The accepted base sides were taken from information given in Holmes & Narvwer Job 640 Horizontal Contrel Report 1949-50. It still remains to be seen whether the angles, as so adjusted, are so related as to make the value of the length of a computed side independent of the route ured. This was not done dus to conditions mentioned ibove, and it is felt that the known conditions are such that they would not justify the extra work of further adjustment. ° 18 tay 1951 T. as KERR PRINCIPAL INGINEER SURVESS
