One of the two operational RAF Canberra aircraft of the
British contingent was lost while enroute to Kwajalein from Australia.
Hence, the British capability for obtaining aerial filter samples
for each event and for the total series has been drastically
impatred.,

AFOAT-1 has been presented with a request by the
accredited United Kingdom representative for a portion of aerial
filter samples collected by AFOAT-1 Long Range Detection operations,
based on the referenced JCS decision on British participation in
Cperation CASTLE and on the corrolary U.

In view of the change in operational capabilities of the

Sritish unit at Kwajalein, and the previous policy decisions on
such an exchange, authority is requested for AFOAT-1 to provide the
British with exposed Long Range Detection filter papers obtained
