The program maintains a full time doctor and assistant at Kwajalein, and H&N support cost
estimates cover their home and office rental, medical and office supplies and island
transportation.
The salaries of the doctor and his assistant are not paid by HA&N.
Patients’ mainland trip expenditures involve commercial air fares, living expenses, miscellaneous purchases of clothes and the cost of accompanying interpreters.
Support of Medical Surveys - Each year the Kwajalein doctor makes various trips to the
outlying islands, and at least twice a year teams of specialists make trips from New York to
conduct an in-depth check on the island natives, especially those who are considered patients.
Support costs involve air fares, shipping costs, costs for Trust Territory medical assistants,
special transportation, gift food for island populations, et cetera.
Facilities at Island sites consist of equipment and trailers or other structures located on
the islands of Kwajalein, Majuro, Ebeye and Rongelap.
