Dedication of the Shippingport Reactor
Mr. McCool reported that the White House had now confirmed that the
President would dedicate the Shippingport reactor on May 26, 1958
public announcement would be made at an early date.

Mr. McCool reported that the FIR shot in Operation HARDTACK had been
delayed twenty-four hours.

AEC 132/20 - The Roles of the Commission and the General Manager
Under consideration was AEC 132/20 - The Roles of the Commission
and General Manager, which contained various considerations and recommendations regarding the relationship and division of effort between the
Commission on the one hand and the General Manager and his staff on the
other. This staff paper and the recommendations therein relate only to
Chapter I of the report dated April 15, 1958, to the General Manager from
Messrs. Harry S. Traynor and John G. Adams. The report, entitled "AEC
Organization Study" was circulated separately to the Commission as
Appendix "B" to AEC 132/20.
