Islands through the following two bills, copies of which are attached: ‘ 1. Public Law 88.485, [H.R. 1988], August 22, 1964, authorized payment by the Secretary of the Interior of $950,000 less legal fees for legal services to the 82 inhabitants of Rongelap, or to their survivors, affected by radiation exposure sustained following the thermonuclear detonation of March 1, 1954.
