FOURTH ENIWETOK COORDINATION COMMITTEE MEETING
October 16, 1972
The meeting was opened by CDR Wolff, Chairman of the Eniwetok Coordination
Committee. Copies of the previous meeting minutes were distributed for
information and retention.
Mr. Cannon (OIS) provided a copy of the press release distributed to
Honolulu newspapers (October 13, 1972) regarding the Eniwetok survey.
The press release (prepared by DOI) had been coordinated with DNA,
DOD, and the AEC.
An Air Force in-house memorandum explaining the PACE preliminary
injunction was addressed by Mr. Goldenberg (OGC). It was noted that
omission of AEC references was due to the fact the AEC was not a
defendent in the case. PACE will effect a complete standdown until
the next court hearing tentatively set for February 13, 1973.
CDR Wolff and Mr. Tommy McCraw commented on airlift activities. Two
aircraft were required to transport personnel and equipment; the first
left Friday, October 13, 1972, and the second on Sunday, October 15,
1972, Aboard the latter aircraft were EG&G personnel and SANDS
equipment.

It was noted that the briefing to the Commission on the Eniwetok survey
had been slipped to a later yet undetermined date. Dry runs with DOS
and DBER representatives will be conducted on October 18, 1972.
The next meeting is scheduled for October 30, 1972, at 2:00 p.m.
