Attached is a copy of a letter I have sent to Genera!
re the Argus classification problem. You may have alzeady
taken steps to anticipate the problems that may arise
connection with the Academy's symposium. I would
emphasize the need to start the clearance procedures
early as possible so that we will not run into last
snags. If the actual papers are to be somewhat delayed, I
would suggest that Jim Van Alien prepare a separate
dealing with the need to relax classification on those
still classified that he considers necessary to release
order to permit adequate scientific understanding of th
phenomena.
