Dear Mr. Undersecretary:
As you well know, I'm sure, many Marshallese Islanders in the
Trust Territory are suffering from. the effects of fallout on
Rongelap and Etirik caused by U.S. nuclear tests on Bikini and
Knewetak many years ago.
These good people, understandably, do
not trust the American doctors (Konrad Kotrady was a rare excepemployed by the Brookhaven National Laboratory who are:
treating them for sicknesses caused by the fallout.
The Marshall Islanders feel very strongly that the BNL doctors
can't be relied upon.
And why?
How can American doctors be
truly objective in their analyses of the Marshall Islanders'
radiation—-related illnesses when the BNL itself is funded by
the country who bombed Bikadni and Enewetak?
It is requested that doctors from Japan who've experience in
treating the survivors of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki A-bomb,
blasts be hired to treat the Marshall Islanders.
Sincerely,
OR, TERENCE DOSH

Please use your good office to effect such a positive change
in the medica] treatment of the Marshall Islanders.
In that way,
the oft—-proclaimed human rights policy of Jimmy Carter may take
on a bit of objectivity.
