During the early part of the oper ‘tion recul ‘rly scheduled boat runs were made to up-island sites -t both atolls, Later, as the need for upeisland traffic dininish. 4d, the trips were made on an as-needed basis, trips made by TG 7.5 boats, J-3 TG 7.1 controlled all bdcu.: All trips were dispatched by the HEN iHarine Dispatcher, with requirements made throuzh the J-3 TG 7.1. This system greatly facilitated control, and exnditious use of the boats. During ‘Jahoo and Umbrella events the TG 7.5 boats were augmented by use of the TG 7.3 Boat Pool D2tachment which made shceduled runs to the target arrays. sO Regularly scheduled water taxi service tetween Parry and Eniwetok was maintained throughout the o-eration. Water taxis were also very effectively | used by the Arming Team in many instances for after dark movement to the zero sites. As of 1 July, TG 7.5 boats were assizned as follows: ENIW2TOK BIKINI 16 - Lai 12 - DUKW 9 - LCU 12 - LGi "3 - HouseLoats (LOU) 3 - Water Taxis 2 = YTL (Tugs), 12 = DUKW 8 - LCU 1 - LGi Pusher 1 - Houseboat Houseborts were LCU's that were especially configured to supply messing and sleeping fadlities for arming team memLers anc other project personnel who were working at or in the vicinity of the barge zero sites.
