I agree with you that the thyroid pathology perhaps should be put on the back burner in view of the other things. However, I am reluctant to take such a move at this time and would like you to consider coming east in the next month or so to visit some of the pathologists who have been concerned with review of slides in the past and have a face-to-face discussion of the problems. I think it would be very useful for you to talk directly to Bill Meisner and Dave Reed. Also, by this time I should have almost a complete set of all of the slides on the Marshallese. Perhaps you and Slatkin would like to peruse. Incidentally, four Marshallese will be coming to Brookhaven on January 4th to be worked up prior to thyroid surgery the following week in Cleveland. My present schedule now is to part for Honolulu on March 10th for meeting on lymphoma organized by Radiation Effects Research Foundation, to Osaka, Japan on March 13th and from Tokyo, Japan to Majuro on March 24th or 25th. The Marshall Island survey team will depart for Kwajalein on March 28th and conduct the survey on Ebeuye from March 30th through April 3rd. The Liktanur II will depart for Rongelap on April 4th for the survey scheduled April 6th through 15th and then for Utirik on April 16th for the survey at Utirik through April 20th through 24th. I don't think it is practical for you to participate in the survey at Rongelap and Utirik since there will probably be no space aboard the Liktanur II, What I would suggest is that you come to Honolulu on March 20-21th and thence directly to Majuro to participate in the survey there and then at Kwajatein-Ebeye and that we leave for Ponape whenever the planes fly around April 5th or 6th. We would be in Ponape for approximately i i te Fi (as
