Fallout predictions are dependent upon the accuracy of weather information. The weather reporting network which will be utilized for the 1956 tests will be larger than those in effect during any previous operation. Additional surface and upper air observing stations have been established, and improved equipment and techniques have been developed to in- crease the altitude and improve the accuracy of weather observations.
