Readings (mrf/hr) aftor docking: 2-3 inside min dock struc
turo, 10.on open deck, 5-8. in. sleeping quarters on upper.dcck, 10-30 on rope and
canvas.
Prior radintion levels cannot bo estimated because of rain squalls and =
evstainty about when decks lnst washed, laster ms advised ‘to have.decks washed
down as soon as convenient. He was told that the activity would nct hurt-anyonc,
but th-t Jt was undesirable to have it around longer than necessary.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Futuro visits to Erikub and Maloolap shouldnot be
attompted by UF-1 oxcopt undor conditions of groator urgeney, Tho writer's prior
expericnce in such oporations is very limited, but from his own obscrvations plus
tho romarks made by those better qualificd to judgo, it appears that a fair amou.'
of risk is involved.

Espocially notablo was the very cooperative attitude of the Navy porsonnc
at Kwajalein and tho Marshall District Administrative Officials at Majuro in supporting this mission.
