Peentt,

Dear Professor Otero:

This is in reply to your letter of December 29 to
Dr. Schlesinger concerning our cooperative biomedical
research program. We are pleased that the revised surveys and modifications of equipment planned for 1972
apparently were successful and that the surveillance
and other studies progressed well.
We appreciate your interest in being able to renew and
improve materials during this year. Accordingly, the
USAEC is pleased to agree to an extension of support
for calendar year 1973. In this regard, we have authorized additional funds at the same level of support
($25,000) through the American Embassy in Madrid.
With kind regards,
Sincerely,
bec:

Chairman Schlesinger (2)
